Helixi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
It was proposed by the Anhui Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1965 and published by Du Sengguan in 1989. The type section is located at the roadside of Yuxianxia, Helixi in Ningguo County of south Anhui Province.
Synonym: (河沥溪组)
Lithology and Thickness
The formation, 491 m thick, consists of grey green, yellow green banded micritic sandstone intercalated with shale or pelite, siltstone. Very often the sandstone and siltstone are interbedded with each other.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation rests conformably in between the underlying Xiaxiang Fm
Upper contact
The formation rests conformably in between the overlying Fancun Fm.
Regional extent
It is mainly exposed in Taiping, Jingde and Guangde.

Fossils
The fossils contained are dull and include trilobites Encrinuroides, Latiproetus and brachiopods Nucleospira, Aegiria, Mesoleptostrophia, Isorthis, etc.
